12. 9. 2014 - 13. 9. 2014 I am going on SAT for sure, join me, write me for detailed programme which is, however, not in CZECH..
The biggest celebration of wine in Znojemsko with a historical parade and marketplace
The celebration recalls the year 1327 when Czech King John of Luxembourg and his wife Elisabeth of Bohemia and the royal court arrived in Znojmo. The full program offers a number of supporting events: theater performances, concerts, fireworks, jousting tournaments, historic marketplace with demonstrations of crafts, and a military camp. The culmination of the celebration is a festive parade through the city, which of course is never missed by that favorite of visitors to Znojmo’s historic vintage, the god of wine and good cheer Bacchus. Blazing torches add atmosphere to Friday’s procession, and Saturday afternoon peaks on the grandstand with the transfer of the city charter and punishment of rogue winemakers.
Watch the procession here, it was so much fun...

If you played with toy soldiers when you were little, if you are a history buff, or if you are looking to see (and learn) something different while visiting the Czech Republic, head to the town of Slavkov near Brno. Slavkov? Never heard of it? Maybe the town s German name, Austerlitz, rings a bell. In 1805, the town s surroundings witnessed the "Battle of the Three Emperors," also known simple as the Battle of Austerlitz. The main program, including a re-enactment of the battle - watch a nice short VIDEO , is scheduled for November 30, December 1, 2013. You can witness a military parade on the main square in Slavkov (Austerlitz), followed by the re-enactment. Some 800 "soldiers" (members of clubs and historical societies from all the corners of Europe) will participate in period uniforms and with period weapons. The re-enactment will include the participation of forty horses and fifty cannons, and in the evening there will be a military parade and fireworks display. See more pictures at http://helis63.rajce.idnes.cz/Reenactment_of_the_Battle_of_Austerlitz_-_Bitva_u_Slavkova_2005/
If interested, I can provide transportation to the scene. Please contact m via e.mail.

In fall some lakes and ponds are being emptied in the Czech Republic. This tradition goes back to the 15th century, when Czech traditional fish - carp has been introduced to the Czech waters. I visited the JEDOVNICE village near Brno and saw emptying the lake. and also enjoyed some fish specialities. Some more pictures at http://helis63.rajce.idnes.cz/JEDOVNICE_vylov_-_emptying_the_lake_in_the_Czech_Republic.

I am sure you are wondering how the bronze model of BRNO in 1645, was made? This model is placed on Moravske Square outside Rendez-vous Café in Brno, the Czech Republic. When I guide the tourists it is very interesting, and really, everybody enjoys it. Watch a 7 minute video, no commentary. Make it yourself. Thanks a million to the Brno architects.
